Daryaganj - Faiz Bazaar

Darya means River, here it is referring to Yamuna River which was just outside the walled city DELHI. Yamuna river was used for transportation during earlier time and for enjoying as well ..In earlier days we didn't have water parks to enjoy but we had better clean Yamuna water. Yamuna river is also considered as a Goddess and is worshiped .

It was earlier known as Faiz bazaar till the partition .It was a commercial hub then and its still a comericial hub.A lot many publishers have there offices in Daryanganj. If you are visiting Daryanganj on sunday you can see the street full of hawkers and would be thinking that it is a book market.Actaully every Sunday the usual shops of daryaganj are closed and the street is covered with sunday market .The market start from Delhi gate and continues till Red fort .In the beginning that is Delhi gate you'll see the book market .You can buy old/new novels/course books etc at a very cheap rate ,don't forget to bargain. Some may not like that they have to bargain but you should try to enjoy it as it would be useful for rest of your journey in Delhi.

After walking a few hundred meter you'll see Golcha which opened just after 7 years of partition so that free Indian can start enjoying Cinema. It is renovated now.You can go and watch a Hindi Bollywood movie there but it would require 3 hrs of yours so plan your trip accordingly if you wanna watch a movie.

After Golcha you'll see Moti Mahal which is famous for it Indian cuisine .You can have your breakfast here. You can try Dal makhani and Butter chicken with a butter Naan .If you don't want to have proper breakfast and want to just have some indian snacks then few footsteps ahead you'll see a wooden footover bridge and there would be a shop just below it selling indian snack. You can have it and continue your journey.

You are actually standing at a red light and you have to go left and within five of walk you'll see JamaMasjid(Your Next Destination).
