Connaught place was built in 1931 and renovated in 2010 during common wealth games in delhi .Commonly known as CP ,it is combo of shopping and an architecture to watch.It was named after duke of connaught . Many times voice was raised to change the name to an indian name once india got independence but wasn't done so during the initial days. Now it has been renamed to Rajiv Chowk .But who cares what the name is today,every calls it CP .It used to be the biggest shopping market for the Britishers before independence . A circular market which used to be full of Britishers horses is now full of Modern Cars .The architecture is a beauty you can go round and round and the market will not finish .
Apart from being the commercial and business hub of Delhi, CP has countless restaurants, shops and emporia and cinema halls too.
CP also has palika bazar , a unique Basement market having a park above it . In Palika you'll find all kinds of things but mostly true copies of big brands . It is the market where people take there kids for buying a video game or Movie Cds .
