Jama Masjid Old Delhi

Jama Masjid means “Mosque of Assembly” . It is the the largest mosque in India. It was built using marble and red sandstone during mughal era(around 1656 AD) by Shah Jahan .It has 3 gates ,4 towers and 40 high minarets. More than 25000 people can pray together at its courtyard.

It is situated at Netajit subash marg ,west of Red fort.

You could reach Jama Masjid taking Delhi-Metro to chawri bazar .

Timings and Fees
Entry for Jama Masjid is free .Photography is allowed by paying a nominal charge of Rs200.

Timings are 7AM to Noon and 1:30 AM to 06:30 PM. Please note that the tourist are not allowed during prayer hours.



After visiting Jama Masjid, you could visit Karims if you like to eat Non vegeterian food.
